Strictly Come Dancing viewers were left complaining just minutes into the latest BBC show as they voiced their dissatisfaction with some even opting to ‘switch off’ in frustration.

The cause of the uproar was the absence of the customary introduction for presenters Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman. Instead of making their anticipated entrance descending the grand staircase, they were already on-stage as the programme started.

Dismayed fans went straight to X, previously known as Twitter, to express their displeasure with comments such as: “So now Tess and Claudia don’t even walk out? ” Others expressed confusion over the change: “Who are these presenters? You’d think they’d introduce them.”

One viewer lamented the loss of an iconic show moment, stating: “I’m really missing Tess and Claudia emerging onto stage to kick the show off.”

While some speculated about potential time constraints: “Tess and Claudia are ready on the studio floor without a full introduction… Are the BBC running late? It would be great if the couples being introduced are coming down the stairs with the main Strictly theme tune.”, reports the Mirror.

Others quipped about the show’s voiceover artist: “Why are Tess and Claudia just standing there from the beginning now? Why aren’t they introduced any more? Does Alan Dedicoat not clock on until 18:24?”

Strictly Come Dancing enthusiasts were left bewildered by a “disturbing” gaffe in the previous week’s episode, which involved an odd sight in the audience. Viewers noticed two pairs of legs illuminated and visible for the duration of the show, situated just behind the judges amidst blue strobe lights.

The peculiar spectacle prompted one viewer to comment: “Rather unfortunate positioning of two lady audience members on Strictly Come Dancing tonight. Looks like the loo door has been left open.”

Meanwhile, another remarked: “The legs on show behind the judges were distracting! “.One person shared: “My husband thought it was the Halloween show and that this was some bizarre set decoration,” while another disgruntled fan expressed: “I’m glad it wasn’t just me: annoyed me all evening! “.

Joining the conversation, another viewer said: “I came here to post this too! They really need to fill those gaps with additional up lighters so we don’t have to see disembodied legs what if they did a Sharon Stone?”

Viewers were distracted by a blunder last week

So far, Strictly has seen Toyah Willcox and Olympic champion Tom Dean exit the competition. However, bookmakers are now concerned about Paul Merson’s chances after he found himself in last week’s dance-off.

Nick Knowles had to withdraw from the previous live show due to a severe double injury but is set to return this week following a period of recuperation.
