An instructor at a “religious school” in Mississauga is accused of sexually assaulting kids.

Peel Regional Police say investigators from the Special Victims Unit identified the 32-year-old man as a suspect and arrested him Oct. 10.

“While working at the school, it is alleged that he sexually assaulted two children,” police said in a statement released Saturday.

Ahmed Alhajahmed is charged with two counts of sexual assault and two counts of sexual interference.

Police are appealing for any additional witnesses.

LOADED GUN SEIZED IN MISSISSAUGA TRAFFIC STOP

Four men and a woman face an assortment of charges after a loaded gun was allegedly seized during a recent traffic stop in Mississauga.

Peel Regional Police allege the firearm was found while Strategic Tactical Enforcement Policing (STEP) team officers were “conducting proactive patrol” in the area of Atlantic Dr. and Britannia Rd. around 12:20 a.m. on Oct. 6.

“During the investigation, officers located and seized a loaded Glock 19 firearm,” police said in a statement released Saturday.

Five suspects were arrested.

Bradley Thenor, 20, Mike-Andral Kouri, 32, Donley Thenor, 27, Von Hans Roc, 26, and Gabriella Danyi, 23, all of no fixed address, are charged with various gun-related and other offences.

DUO ALLEGEDLY CAUGHT WITH LOADED GUN IN MISSISSAUGA

A man and a woman, both 24, face various gun charges after they were allegedly nabbed with a loaded revolver during a traffic stop in Mississauga.

Peel Regional Police say officers pulled a vehicle over in the area of Derry Rd. E. and Torbram Rd. around 2 a.m. on Friday.

“As a result, both occupants were taken into custody and a loaded .38 calibre revolver was located and seized,” police alleged in a statement released Saturday.

Charged are Kendall Saunders, of Dartmouth, Nova Scotia, and Malai Atkinson, of Richmond Hill.

At the time of their arrests, police said Saunders was “out on parole under a lifetime weapons prohibition.”

MAN FOUND DEAD IN WHITBY

A man found dead in Whitby on Saturday afternoon.

Durham Regional Police say officers were called to the area of Des Newman Blvd. and Dundas St. – east of Hwy. 412 – where a man was located dead.

Police say there is no concern for public safety.

No further details were immediately released.

PICKERING SHOOTING SUSPECT ARRESTED

A 46-year-old man has been arrested and an assortment firearms seized in the wake of a terrifying shooting in Pickering on Friday morning.

Durham Regional Police a woman went to a police station at about 6:30 a.m. to report another motorist had shot at her while she was driving.

The woman was allegedly at a Tim Hortons near Toy Ave. and Bayly St. – east of Brock Rd. – when she heard a vehicle behind her honking.

Police allege the victim left the parking lot and driving west on Bayly when she noticed the same vehicle “trying to catch up to her.”

The woman signaled to turn into to the Pickering GO Station parking lot to get away from the other driver, but he allegedly “pulled up alongside her and threw a coffee at the car before driving away.”

As the woman continued driving west on Bayly, the other driver allegedly made a U-turn and began driving towards her.

As the vehicles were approaching Liverpool Rd., police allege the other motorist shot at the woman, shattering her driver’s side window.

The woman suffered minor injuries.

Investigators identified a suspect and arrested him on Friday night, allegedly with a loaded handgun in his waistband.

Officers subsequently executed a search warrant at his Ajax home and seized several other firearms.

Creaton David Hinds is charged with attempted murder, discharging a firearm with intent to wound, pointing a firearm, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a loaded firearm, and two counts of careless storage of a firearm.

MAN HIT BY TRUCK IN WHITBY

A man is fighting for his life after he was struck by a pickup truck in Whitby.

Durham Regional Police say officers responded to a collision involving a pedestrian and a truck in the area of Rossland Rd. and Fencerow Dr. – east of Thickson Rd. – around 12:50 p.m. on Friday.

A Dodge Ram Pickup, driven by a 65-year-old Oshawa man, was eastbound on Rossland approaching Fencerow Dr. when he crossed over several lanes and mounted the curb on the northeast corner, police said in a statement released Saturday.

“As the driver crossed the boulevard he struck a 28-year-old male from Whitby who was waiting at the bus stop,” police said, explaining the pickup continued east and struck two Bell boxes before crashing through two fences and landing in a pool in the backyard of a home on Ravenview Dr.

The man who was hit was taken to a Toronto hospital with potentially life-threatening injuries.

DRIVER KILLED IN IN CALEDON CRASH

A 48-year-old man was killed in a single-vehicle crash in Caledon early Saturday.

Ontario Provincial Police say officers from their Caledon detachment responded to the deadly collision on Hwy. 10 near Old School Rd. – north of Mayfield Rd. – shortly after 2:30 a.m.

The driver of the vehicle, an Erin resident, was airlifted to hospital where he was later pronounced dead, the OPP said in a statement released Saturday.

The area was closed off for several hours as officers investigated.
