Jessica Chastain had a social media post backfire on her this week after she tried to publicly shame JetBlue because their inflight entertainment was down during a recent flight.

The Oscar winner lashed out at the airline in a series of tweets that she has since deleted, lambasting the carrier for offering her a $15 flight credit after the malfunction.

“Thank you @JetBlue for your $15.00 credit. My flight was $1,500 and the credit is 1/100 of the money I paid you,” Chastain shared with her nearly one million followers on X, posting screenshots of the company’s travel credit offer. “Strange that I paid that for your flight entertainment system that didn’t work for the duration of my 6hr flight, but I guess it was worth it for this $15 credit.”

Chastain then shared a direct message with someone on JetBlue’s customer service team who told her everyone on her flight got a $15 credit.

“I understand but I spent $1500 on the flight and so did my husband,” she replied. “There should be some flight credit or something since I have a TrueBlue account and have been a loyal customer.”

“I understand,” the representative replied. “The $15 you received is flight credit. I am sorry. There is not more I can do.”

As Chastain’s rant went viral, people following the drama on X poked fun at her for arguing about the inconvenience.

“Jessica Chastain beefing with an airline publicly on twitter shows that no matter how much money you have you’ll never stop being a millennial,” one person commented.

Others categorized the actress as “tone deaf” for griping about her broken inflight entertainment when thousands of Americans are dealing with the fallout from Hurricane Helene and Hurricane Milton.

“People in North Carolina just watched their loved ones and homes wash away, but the real tragedy is Jessica Chastain (net worth $50 million) not having a functioning TV on her flight. Thoughts and prayers,” one critic sarcastically quipped.

“Jessica Chastain is whining about paying $1,500 for a Jet Blue flight and not having a working TV. The way you can be a millionaire but still be a broke bitch at heart,” a third added.

“Jessica Chastain is so embarrassing,” another said dismissively.

After Chastain put JetBlue on blast, writer Carrie Wittmer wondered if “early 2010s Twitter (was) back or is that just Jessica Chastain.”

Others asked why Chastain, who recently listed her New York City pad for over $7 million, was even flying JetBlue and mocked her for using X to rant about “her very specific rich people problems.”

One follower complained that the incident ended without any closure as they asked: “Have we gotten any update on the Jessica Chastain/JetBlue situation?”

But the besieged star of The Help had a couple of people defending her for calling out the airline.

I know everyone’s dunking on Jessica Chastain, but low key, I think it’s good that a celebrity is complaining publicly,” one supporter cheered. “Airlines have absolutely no accountability when it comes to customer service, experience, or even the basics like BEING ON TIME.”

“Exactly! Also there’s an annoying trend of big businesses ignoring their customers and treating them like s*** until they realize they have a massive following on social media,” a second person added.

“So many of you would tweet exactly like Jessica Chastain if you were her level of famous. I know that in my soul,” a third wrote.
