The Canadiens opened the NHL season with a 1-0 win over the Toronto Maple Leafs at the Bell Centre Wednesday night.

Goalie Samuel Montembeault made the first start, making 48 saves as the Canadiens were outshot 48-27 and struggled getting the puck out of their own zone at times.

On this week’s Hockey Inside/Out Show The Gazette’s Stu Cowan is joined by former Canadiens Chris Nilan and Rick Green — who were part of the 1986 Stanley Cup team — to discuss what impressed them and what disappointed them in the season opener and why there might be reason for concern moving forward.

They also discuss which of the Leafs or Bruins — who the the Canadiens play their second game — is now the team’s biggest rival.

Also, what do the former Canadiens think about Joshua Roy and Logan Mailloux being sent down to the AHL’s Laval Rocket and does Joel Armia deserve the spot he has been given on the second line with Kirby Dach and Alex Newhook?

Let us know what you think in the comments section below and you can look for a new HI/O Show, along with three bonus episodes, every week.
