A missing teenage woman has died as a police search ended in tragedy. Police were called out after reports were made that the 18-year-old was missing just after 7am today, Thursday, October 10.

She had been reported missing in the market town of Wilmslow. About 90 minutes later this morning, she was located near Rotherwood Road, the MEN reports.

Emergency services were called in. Tragically, despite the best efforts of 999 workers, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

There are not believed to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding her death, officers say. A Cheshire Police spokesperson said: “Shortly after 7am on Thursday, 10 October, police were called to reports of a missing 18-year-old woman in the Wilmslow area.

“A short time later, at 8.33am, the woman was located near to Rotherwood Road. Police and paramedics attended, but sadly despite the best efforts of all those involved, she was pronounced dead at the scene.

“Her next of kin are aware and are being supported by officers. “The death is not believed to be suspicious and a case file will be prepared for the coroner.”
