Jurgen Klopp will reportedly be able to leave his new post at Red Bull to become Germany’s national manager due to a release clause in his contract.

Klopp left Liverpool at the end of last season having picked up eight trophies in his time at Anfield.

He etched his name into Liverpool folklore by winning their first top-flight title in 30 years as well as picking up a Champions League.

After leaving Liverpool, Klopp admitted that he wanted to take a break away from football and wasn’t sure whether he’d ever return to management on a domestic level.

But the 57-year-old will be back in work at the start of next year after taking a role working with Red Bull.

He’s been appointed as the new Global Head of Soccer at Red Bull, with the role starting on January 1, 2025.

The new role will see Klopp advise the group’s network of teams – which include RB Leipzig, Red Bull Salzburg, Red Bull Bragantino and New York Red Bull.

He’s said to have signed a long-term contract with the Austrian company, but it’s been reported that his deal includes a specific exit clause.

Klopp will reportedly be allowed to leave which would allow him to become the Germany national team head coach.

The former Liverpool boss is seen as the favourite to be Julian Nagelsmann’s successor at Germany should the role become available.

Nagelsmann has only been in the role for a year and became the youngest to ever coach in the Euros this past summer as Germany lost to eventual champions Spain in the quarter-finals.

Klopp insists that he’s looking forward to his new venture with Red Bull and working with several clubs.
