Acura early October released some details of its soon-to-be-launched ADX compact crossover—as well as a few teaser images giving us our first real look at the new vehicle. The brand’s entry-level SUV will likely be based on parent company Honda’s HR-V, but sufficiently decked out with all the bells and whistles that the premium Acura badge demands.

Going by the press release, we can assume it’s not going to be the all-electric affair we thought it was supposed to be. Instead, the ADX will get a turbocharged engine, most likely the 1.5-litre turbo-four from the Integra; in that car, that engine’s good for about 200 horsepower.

Other features confirmed today include a standard panoramic moonroof, a Bang & Olufsen sound system, and ventilated front seats. Acura’s teaser image of the car’s LED taillamps also shows us the silhouette of the roof-mounted spoiler. Zooming into the image reveals this particular model to be in A-Spec trim, so we know that’ll be available, too.

Playing around a little bit with Photoshop lightens up the image, and also reveals the contours of the car’s rear end and the rear quarter glass.

When fully revealed later this fall, the Acura ADX will sit at the bottom rung of the firm’s SUV lineup, which includes the RDX, MDX and ZDX.
