The festive season often sees a surge in home delivery for groceries, with many Brits opting to avoid overcrowded supermarkets by having their shopping delivered at home.

Tesco has just revealed its Christmas delivery slots for 2024, offering the earliest slots to customers who sign up for a Delivery Plan.

The supermarket giant has also boosted its delivery capacity by adding an extra 60 vans to its fleet, creating thousands of additional slots across the UK. From next week, customers with an Anytime Delivery Saver plan or Click+Collect plan get a week’s head start, with slots opening at 6am on November 5.

For those without a delivery pass, slots will be available from 6am on November 12, a week earlier than last year.

Tesco has also expanded its rapid delivery service, Whoosh, offering thousands of extra slots on Christmas Eve for those last-minute essentials or forgotten items.

Tom Denyard, Managing Director of Tesco Online said: “We’re looking forward to helping customers across the UK pick up their family favourites or treat themselves to something special this festive season. As we help customers plan ahead for their Christmas shop this year, we are excited to be providing increased capacity with thousands of extra slots available in the fortnight leading up to Christmas Day.”

He continued “There is no better time to sign up to a convenient Delivery Saver plan and benefit from festive priority slot bookings. Delivery Saver plans not only give you early access to slots this Christmas, but they can also save you an amazing £176 a year on delivery or collection fees.”

Delivery Saver is Tesco’s subscription-based delivery service designed to help reduce the cost of regular online grocery orders, with a range of plans running for 6 or 12 months and starting from £2.49 a month. The plans mean any orders will be delivered or available through the Click+Collect service at selected stores for free.
