HOW CAN YOU SUPPORT THE LIBS?

Politicians in ivory towers increase taxes, hoping voters will forget the pain they’ve caused before the next election. Trudeau’s taking a bow for the dental plan and pharmacare while forgetting his increasing the carbon and alcohol taxes causing high inflation and interest rates. Some voters will support Liberals due to their political play of GST and HST plus carbon tax rebates. They’ll just forget all the damage Liberals have caused Canada’s economy and households over the past eight years.

(It would seem Canadians have made up their minds, and it is time for a change. That doesn’t mean Trudeau’s electoral chances aren’t impossible — just slim for the Liberals to win the next election)

PUT THEM AWAY

It is beyond comprehension why the law and order and justice system in both Canada and the U.S. are failing to check the rapid increase of violent crime in our towns and cities. The catch-and-release philosophy being practiced by judges across the North American continent is obviously not working. There is only one way to reduce crimes of violence, and that is simply to remove those convicted of such crimes from our society for long periods of time. I believe that shootings in Toronto would be significantly reduced if the sentence on conviction began with 10 years of incarceration for the carrying of an illegal gun and escalated to life imprisonment for the firing of a weapon, with absolutely no chance of parole for at least 15 years. This may seem harsh to those who believe human beings should not be imprisoned, but after the criminals see this kind of punishment being awarded to the perpetrators of these crimes, I think the carrying and use of guns would be reduced. We also need to apply these laws to criminals of all ages. There are too many lives being snuffed out by children as young as 13 or 14. Put a few of those away for 10 years, and we would quickly see a drop in these teen shootings. Letting people out on bail has proven to be totally wrong, and wishy-washy punishments have only served to embolden more crime.

(Time and again, criminals who are committing these violent acts are usually on bail, or have been previously convicted of crimes. Our criminal justice system needs change immediately)
