Emma Raducanu has been spotted driving in her old car – a second-hand Dacia Sandero – after Porsche took back their £125,000 supercar.

The 23-year-old bought the vehicle four years ago, before her incredible victory at the US Open in 2021, and instantly fell in love with it.

According to The Sun, Raducanu was seen whipping around in the £5,000 car just days after her Porsche was taken off her.

But while the luxury car has left her possession, the Briton has remained loyal to her old Dacia Sandero, which is now her main car again.

In 2022, Raducanu was gifted a £125,000 911 Carrera GTS Cabriolet, which has a top speed of 102 mph.

It came after she was named a global brand ambassador for the German car manufacturers following her Grand Slam victory at the US Open in 2021.

However, she still adores her second-hand Dacia, which she insisted would never leave her possession.

Speaking to The Sun in 2022, Raducanu said: “My dad is Romanian and a Dacia was his first car. So, yeah, I have a white Dacia Sandero.

“It was funny, I passed my test three days before the first lockdown and we sort of knew it was going into lockdown, so we needed to buy a car ASAP.

“I bought it second-hand for £5,000. I take care of her. I’m never going to get rid of it.”

Raducanu shot to fame with her incredible victory at Flushing Meadows three years ago but it has been tough for the young tennis star since.

A mixture of shoddy form and persistent injury troubles have dogged her career since.

And last week, Raducanu’s beloved Porsche was stripped off her – but she remains an ambassador for the car company.

A spokesperson for the company said: “Emma Raducanu is a global brand ambassador for Porsche and there have not been any changes within our successful partnership since it started in 2022.

“We are very happy with our partnership.”

Raducanu’s injury problems have followed her this year and forced her to withdraw from the Beijing Open and Wuhan Open in recent weeks.

Having been hopeful that she could take part in some autumn tournaments following her US Open first-round defeat, it has been a bitterly disappointing result for the Briton.
