Strictly Come Dancing fans were left baffled on Sunday night after hosts Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman opened the show and immediately went into reading out the results.

On Saturday night, the celebrities took to the dance floor for Movie Week and saw characters from George of the Jungle, Willy Wonka and Barbie.

Before the stars took to the dancefloor, the Strictly professionals put on a show with a spectacular show dance from the movie Despicable Me – leaving Kai Widdrington to dress up as Gru.

As normal, the pros took to the dancefloor to show off their incredible talent with another group dance, however, it was edited in halfway through the show – with fans outraged by the decision.

Taking to their X account, one fan slammed: “No pro dance before the results start being annoyed is CRIMINAL, put it back!!!!! #strictly.”

“Really hate that they haven’t opened with the pro dance #strictly,” another added before a third said: “What’s with all the changes this series no pro dance at the beginning this week #strictly.”

A fourth slammed: “The group pro dance at the beginning was the only reason to tune in to the pre-recorded results show! #Strictly.”

“They’re opening with the results first?? don’t they nearly go straight into a pro dance??? #Strictly,” someone else asked before a sixth expressed: “Can anyone explain the really weird production changes on #strictly.”

However, not everyone was upset with the changes to the show, as one fan praised: “That was the best pro routine in a long time – loved it! #strictly.”

Another agreed: “Loved that pro dance, although anything would look brilliant after that minions nightmare yesterday #Strictly.”

For Toyah Willcox and Neil Jones, their journey came to an end on Sunday night after they became the second couple to be sent home.

On Saturday night they performed the Samba to Poor Unfortunate Souls from The Little Mermaid and faced Paul Merson and Karen Hauer in the dance-off after they performed the Cha Cha to The Magnificent Seven Theme.

All four judges decided to save Merson and Hauer, giving them another chance at the competition before praising Willcox and Jones for their time on the show.

When asked by Daly about their time on the show, Willcox said: “It’s been the best two months of my life, it has been fantastic.

“I have enjoyed every second. And you (Neil) have been phenomenal, thank you so much.”

Jones added: “She has made me laugh so much, I have never seen someone work so hard – I’m the one asking for breaks every now and then! She just kept going, she wanted to learn so much.

“If you saw her in the hallway she’s been practicing. Everyone’s been telling me have you seen Toyah practising, she’s brilliant and she’s what Strictly is all about, and I’ve loved every moment”

Discussing her time with Jones, Willcox praised: “It was immediate, it had to be Neil. I felt so comfortable and safe.

“You’re a great teacher, you’re a great friend as well. You’ve just given me a new zest for life, that’s the most valuable thing I’ve come away with.”

Whilst some fans were thrilled to see her leave the competition, some were still left annoyed by the fact that she was saved over Tom Dean last week.
