Only Connect fans have expressed concerns the famously difficult quiz show is changing following a sting of “easy” questions during the latest episode.
Viewers who tuned into Monday’s instalment of the BBC show, hosted by Victoria Coren Mitchell, agreed the key aspect of the show seemed to have changed.
The show is known for its very tricky questions and puzzles, but some begged for this element of the show to return on Monday.
Many were convinced questions had been simplified, with the episode opening on Coren Mitchell reading a question about words ending in “ough”.
The clues depicted “clearing of the throat,” “tree branch,” and “mixture of flour and liquid”.
Many viewers answered correctly and were shocked when the next question was also solvable to them.

The second puzzle was regarding the word “magnum,” with clues including the famous ice cream brand as well as a magnum gun.
One was a snap of actor Tom Selleck as Magnum PI from the 1980s TV series, which some fans thought was a far too obvious clue.
They soon became suspicious to be answering the questions correctly and were convinced easier puzzles had been selected.
Taking to X, many shared their highest scores and questioned the difficulty of the episode, with one writing: “34 #onlyconnect points tonight, think that’s a record for me!”

“Only Connect has got so easy recently #onlyconnect,” a third remarked.
“Just got the first two connections ##onlyconnect my wife said the questions must be easier,” someone else echoed.
A different viewer added: “Another poor scoring episode of #mastermind. #onlyconnect however seems to be getting easier. Let’s see who I hate the most this week!”
