A designer bathroom retailer is opening two new stores in Northern Ireland, creating eight new jobs.

Bathshack is investing £250,000 in a new showroom in Armagh city, and a showroom for its subsidiary brand Tileshack on Belfast’s Shore Road.

The opening of the new stores, which will employ eight additional staff, has been made after financial support from Dankse Bank.

Bathshack was founded in 2009, and sells its products both online and from its showrooms.

The Tileshack location in Belfast comes after Bathshack purchased the assets of Hutton Tiles, a company who supplied tiles from the shore Road for more than a quarter of a century.

The company now has 10 showrooms on the island of Ireland with two sites in Belfast alongside shops in Ballymena, Lisburn, Coleraine, Antrim, Cork and Dublin.

It plans to open another new showroom before the end of 2024, located in Galway.

Peter Dunlop, managing director of Bathshack, said: “Tiles are fast becoming one of our most exciting product categories and this is an area where we’re seeing major growth.

“The support we have received from Danske Bank has been instrumental to the growth of Bathshack, allowing us to grow the business with confidence and offer a wider range of items to our customers, with the opening of the Tileshack showroom.

“As with any large investment, plans often change throughout the process but Danske Bank has provided unwavering and reliable support for both our current and future business investment plans.”

Paula Owens, senior business manager at Danske Bank, said: “Bathshack’s growth and expansion as a business has been wonderful to see.

“Local businesses are crucial to our economy, and it’s great to see the company expand into different geographies and addressing the demand for jobs.

“It’s an exciting time for Bathshack and we look forward to supporting them as they continue to grow.”
