Everyone should have their signature scent, but it might take a few years to find your perfect one. For those of us who know what we like, Estee Lauder is offering one of their most popular perfumes, Sensuous, at a hugely discounted price.

A staple in the fragrance collection of many perfume enthusiasts, Estee Lauder launched its first scent, Youth Dew, in the early 60s. This timeless fragrance continues to be popular among shoppers, reports the Manchester Evening News.

Today, Estee Lauder is renowned for its ‘summer in a bottle’ Bronzed Goddess Skinscent, Private Collection Tuberose Gardenia Eau de Parfum and Sensuous Ea de Parfum. A 50ml bottle of the currently sold-out Sensuous typically costs £70 on the Estee Lauder website, if you can even manage to get your hands on it.

However, there is now a way to secure it with a substantial discount of nearly £40. At present, Amazon is selling a bottle of the fragrance for £31.99, offering a saving of almost 55 per cent, compared to purchasing it directly from Este Lauder.

Sensuous, described as an oriental woody fragrance, was introduced in 2008 by master perfumer Annie Buzantian. Over her five-decade career, Annie has contributed to several popular scents including Look by Vera Wang, Decadence by Marc Jacobs and Emporio Armani White For Her by Giorgio Armani.

Sensuous features lily notes, magnolia and jasmine petals at the top, with robust notes of molten wood and amber at the heart. The base introduces sandalwood, black pepper, juicy mandarin pulp and honey, resulting in a warm, luminous and feminine fragrance that’s perfect for wearing throughout autumn and winter.

Estee Lauder’s Sensuous is making waves with its 2,280 five-star ratings from Amazon shoppers. Enthusiastic feedback includes one customer saying: “I love this perfume. If you are looking for a really nice smell or a lovely gift for someone I would recommend this 1000 times over.”

Another happy buyer expressed: “I just love this perfume and, in my opinion, it’s Estee Lauder’s best apart from Youth Dew. Youth Dew is far too heavy for daytime, this one is perfect and smells so unique. I’ve never ever smelt anything else like it. Because of my temperamental skin which makes it difficult for any perfume to smell good on me, this one, however, I’ve fallen in love with.”

A loyal fan mentioned their long-term relationship with the scent: “I’ve been wearing this perfume since I was 17 and I’m now 24, it is simply the nicest perfume I’ve ever smelt. I get so many compliments and I love how it is strong yet not overbearing. It will never go out of fashion and it’s a smell for any age.”

However, among less enthusiastic reviews, a three-star comment noted: “this perfume is lovely but is not long lasting. It has quite a subtle scent and ideal for every day use.”

But overturning that criticism, another admirer of the fragrance added: “Beautiful perfume, great for day and night wear. I have worn this perfume since 2009 and receive compliments constantly, with many asking for the name. Highly recommended.”

If you’re a fan of the Estee Lauder perfume, you could also try Olympea by Paco Rabanne and YSL’s Black Opium, both available at Boots. Over at LookFantastic, there’s a deal on a 50ml bottle of Eau de Soleil Blanc Eau de Toilette by Tom Ford, reduced from £106 to just £84.80.
