A woman has revealed an eight stone weight loss journey so remarkable that she ‘doesn’t look like the same person.’ Laci Gilbert started her transformation in 2023, weighing 275lbs and puts her success down to an affordable app designed to help users overhaul their mindset and lifestyle habits.

After losing over eight stone with the aid of a lifestyle app that helped her revamp her diet and incorporate weight training and exercise into her routine, Laci not only looks fantastic but also says she feels improvements in her mental focus, sleep quality, and joint pain.

The app, named Simple, is described by its creators as ‘an AI coaching app for adults who want to live a healthier lifestyle. It’s reshaping the science behind weight loss, standing as an innovative alternative to the restrictive and ineffective diet industry.’

Developed and fine-tuned by a top-tier team of experts in nutrition, behavioural change, digital health, and medicine, the programme, which emphasises safety and accuracy in fitness, has been reduced from £29.99 to £17.99 for a limited time, with the 40% drop to encourage first-time users to kickstart their health journey.

The Simple app offers a range of tools designed to help users achieve their healthiest selves. For instance, the NutriScanner feature helps users understand the nutritional content of their meals, promoting healthier eating habits, reports the Manchester Evening News.

In addition, the app’s AI wellness coach, Avo, provides recipe suggestions and workout plans around the clock. The Simple app can also generate a personalised seven-day workout plan based on information provided by the user during sign-up.

With over 17 million downloads, Simple prides itself on its ‘gradual, gentle approach to form healthier habits through small and consistent daily choices’. This approach has proven successful, as evidenced by users like Laci, who achieved a healthier lifestyle after using the app for over a year.

Laci shared her remarkable transformation after using the app, saying: “I no longer look or feel like the same person I was a little over a year ago. I am a completely different person inside and out. My health has improved, my physical appearance has improved, my self esteem has improved. My entire life has improved. There is not one negative thing I can say about this journey, so far I’ve lost 116lbs, I’d like to lose 15-20 more.”

She added the weight loss had helped decrease her risk of diabetes and heart disease, saying: “The most important thing that has happened on this journey is that I have beaten the odds of generational obesity-related illnesses.”

On the subject of the app itself, Laci said: “Simple has provided a blueprint for me, to guide me on a path to change my life and that’s exactly what I’ve done. Simple has helped me change my life all for the better.” She also highlighted one of her favourite features of the app – the photo comparison tool, which allows users to see their transformation side by side.

Meanwhile, Chris, a university cook, is one of thousands of men who has had success, shedding 41 lbs using the app. He explained: “My goal is to get from 295 lbs down to 220 lbs. I’m currently halfway there, down to 250 lbs. I would also like to lower my blood pressure, my cholesterol and my blood sugar.”

Chris discovered Simple whilst searching for a meal tracking website. He said: “I gave it a try because I really liked that it supported intermittent fasting which is something I tried in the past and had quite a bit of luck with. Some of the obstacles for my success has been that, as a cook, I work around food non-stop, so it’s hard not to think about food.”

He went on to describe his success with the app’s technology, saying: “My experience working with Simple’s AI assistant has been great. I love the recipes that it comes up with, but I also really like the feedback I get if I have a day where I eat too much of a certain food – it’ll help put it in perspective and help me learn.”

However, it hasn’t all been positive, as some customers have encountered issues, particularly when attempting to cancel subscriptions, and there have been mentions of sporadic glitches within the application.

If relying on an app isn’t quite your style and you aspire for a more hands-on approach to health, subscription food boxes might be a solid alternative solution. Hello Fresh delivers weekly packages brimming with fresh ingredients and exciting recipes to your door, while Green Chef caters to various dietary needs with meals planned by nutritional experts.
