Question: I have been in a quandary since reading the article about Alice Munro’s daughter’s sexual abuse. My father molested me at the age of eight/nine. My mother saw him on one occasion. She ran out shouting, with him going after her saying: “I thought she was you”. He molested me on at least three other times I can remember. I never said a word to anyone. He was a horrible alcoholic and is long dead. No one knows the terror of a small child and the power an abusive parent has over them.
