A public safety alert has been issued and a man is sought after an alleged sex assault in Toronto’s east end.

In a news release issued on Friday, Toronto Police said officers responded on Aug. 23 at about 7 p.m. to a sexual assault call in the Pape and Cosburn Aves. area.

Police said the alleged victim entered a residential apartment building and the accused followed her and allegedly sexually assaulted her before she ran to safety and contacted police.

The suspect is described as 5-foot-11 and about 20-40 years old. He was wearing a black turban, construction vest, sweatpants and a red polo shirt.

Investigators have released an image of the suspect.

4 CHARGED IN GTA DRUG TRAFFICKING PROBE

Four people from the Greater Toronto Area have been charged as part of an effort to curtail drug trafficking.

Toronto Police said members of the drug squad started Project Dolphin in August, which cops announced on Friday resulted in four arrests and the seizure of illicit drugs and money.

Police alleged that the accused were involved in the trafficking of crystal methamphetamine and fentanyl across Toronto.

On Tuesday, police said drug squad members found and arrested three people in the Victoria Park and St. Clair Aves. area as part of the ongoing investigation.

Subsequent to the arrest, police executed two search warrants — one at a residence in the Durham Region and one on a vehicle. As a result, an additional person was charged with drug-related offences.

Police said they seized about 13 kilos of crystal methamphetamine, about 14 kilos of fentanyl, drug packaging and fentanyl cutting/colouring kit, and Canadian and American currency.

Wali Piracha, 30, of Ajax, Daisy Reyes, 36, of Toronto, Johnathan Livingston, 60, of Toronto, and Yasmeen Piracha, 55, of Pickering, were all charged with drug-related offences.

HAMILTON MAN CHARGED IN HISTORICAL SEX ASSAULT INVESTIGATION

A 73-year-old Hamilton man is accused of historical sexual assaults against three young people in Toronto and Mississauga over a 26-year span, police say.

In a news release issued on Friday, Toronto Police said Jeoffrey Serrette was arrested and charged on July 31 with two counts of indecent assault on a female, three counts of sexual interference with a person under 14 years of age, sexual assault, and assault.

Investigators believe there may be other victims and released an image of the accused.
