A car has flipped onto its roof in a crash near a Bristol hospital this afternoon, Friday, October 4. Traffic is being diverted away from the area following the crash between Southmead Children’s Centre and Ashburton Road
Pictures taken from the scene show a car on its roof on Doncaster Road. The road is currently closed as recovery of the stricken vehicle is under way.
Police officers and fire crews have been pictured at the scene of the crash. It is not clear how many vehicles were involved. It is not believed that anyone has sustained any serious injuries as a result of the collision. Follow our live blog here for the latest updates from the scene.
First Bus warned passengers of disruption to a number of services due to the ongoing incident. It said: “SERVICE ALERT – 2, 76. Doncaster Rd/Southmead closed due to an incident.
“2 to Cribbs diverting via Southmead Rd, Pen Park Rd, Greystoke. 76 to Henbury/Cribbs diverting via Southmead Rd, Pen Park Rd, Greystoke Av. 76 to Hengrove is the reverse of above.”
Road and traffic monitoring site Inrix reported the crash. it said: “Doncaster Road in both directions closed due to accident from The Childrens Centre to Ashburton Road. Traffic is coping well.”
