One of three people accused of assaulting two police officers during a demonstration last month has been arrested and charged.

Toronto Police said officers attended a demonstration in the Yonge and Front Sts. area on Wednesday, Sept. 11 at about 6 p.m.

Police said a group of protesters were demonstrating at an event at Meridian Hall when the group allegedly tried to gain entry into the event and were removed by officers.

Cops said a woman was arrested for allegedly assaulting a police officer.

Police also said that demonstrators became “confrontational with officers who were assisting with crowd control,” and one suspect allegedly spat at an officer while another allegedly struck an officer.

Cops alleged that demonstrators then went to Toronto Police’s 51 Division at Parliament and Front Sts., where demonstrators allegedly “proceeded to become combative, and two suspects were arrested for assaulting officers.”

Police alleged that a third suspect spat on an officer.

Cops said on Thursday night that the third accused, identified as Ghadir Mokahal, 25, of Toronto, turned herself into police on Wednesday. She was charged with assault police officer.
