A man has died in a crash involving multiple vehicles on the A26 Crankill Road dual carriageway outside Ballymena, police have confirmed.

Emergency services were called to the scene of the collision on Tuesday night.

The road has been closed in both directions overnight and into Wednesday morning.

“The road remains closed this morning as police examine the scene to establish the circumstances,” a PSNI spokesperson said.

Diversions are in place and drivers are advised to seek an alternative route.

North-bound traffic is being diverted at Kildowney Road, and south-bound traffic at Lisnasoo Road – the carriageway is closed completely between these points.
