Kai Havertz has been condemned by Chelsea fans after saying it would ‘mean more’ to win the Champions League with Arsenal.

The Germany international crossed the divide in the capital back in the summer of 2023 having blown hot and cold during his time at Stamford Bridge.

Havertz has, however, come on considerably ever since his move to the Emirates Stadium.

And he scored for the sixth home match in a row on Tuesday night as Arsenal beat PSG 2-0 in their Champions League clash.

Havertz headed the Gunners in front after 20 minutes, with Bukayo Saka then doubling their advantage 15 minutes later.

Speaking prior to the win, the 25-year-old raised eyebrows by saying it would mean ‘more’ to lift the famous trophy with Arsenal.

And that’s despite the forward scoring the only goal of the game as Chelsea beat Manchester City to win the prize back in 2021.

Havertz said: “Winning the Champions League is a nice feeling. But it would be even nicer if I can do it with Arsenal!

“It would mean a lot more.”

Yet Chelsea fans have now blasted Havertz for his comments, with one livid fan saying: “I’ve never seen anyone as ungrateful as this guy.”

A second raged: “He just about won it with us after nearly fluffing a big chance… and he thinks he can do it with Arsenal? Poor guy lmao.”

A third fumed: “To score the 2nd biggest goal in Chelsea history and be hated by all the fans should tell you just how bad a character Havertz is.”

Another said: “He just about won it with us after nearly fluffing a big chance… and he thinks he can do it with Arsenal? Poor guy lmao.”

And a fifth user chipped in by saying: “Havertz should normalize hyping Arsenal without belittling his Chelsea accomplishments; A lot of his statements are disrespectful to his former club & fans.”

Meanwhile, speaking after Havertz’s heroics against PSG, Mikel Arteta lavished praise on the Germany international.

“He has been unbelievable,” he said.
