Cop shot while conducting investigation, rushed to hospital, Toronto Police say

Toronto Police said an officer was shot late Wednesday afternoon while conducting an investigation.

In a post to the social-media site X, police said officers were conducting an investigation at 5:30 p.m. in the Yonge St.-Eglinton Ave. area and stopped a vehicle.

“One officer was shot and taken to hospital via emerg(ency) run,” police said in the X post.

Police said one person was arrested at the scene and another was outstanding.
