Three dead, many wounded, no one arrested and silence from the politicians.

Five deadly and bloody incidents in the GTA overnight and eight cases of heinous violence in two days.

It’s out of control. On violence, the GTA has lost control.

It was a night of death from bullets and blades that is so gross and disturbing that the criminal justice system and politicians that oversee it should hang their heads in shame.

Toronto and the GTA is a shooting gallery where you not only need a bulletproof vest but a steel helmet, too.

You never where the bullets will come from. But you know they are coming.

“Sadly, we are no longer surprised  to hear about incidents of violence in our city,” said Toronto Police Association President Jon Reid. “Our members go to call after call, another shooting, another stabbing, another homicide. Communities are left to pick up the pieces, our members are criticized every day, and yet our local government is silent on these issues.”

It’s hard to argue with him. It’s insanity.

At 9:20 p.m. Monday, a teenager was shot at Berkeley Street and The Esplanade. At 1  a.m Tuesday, there was a shooting in at Eglinton Avenue and Brentcliffe Road.

At 1:04 a.m. a man was shot dead at Marlee Avenue and Lawrence Avenue in the parking lot of a mall.

“There were 20 shots at that one,” said a police officer. “It’s been crazy.”

There was bike lying on the ground around all of the gunshot markers.

A man was also stabbed to death at Jane Street and St. Clair Avenue at 12:21 a.m.

Don’t forget about the triple shooting in Mississauga at Central Parkway and Joan Drive at 3:47 a.m. in which one person was killed and two others wounded in a wild shootout.

All of this happened just one day after there was three shootings in Toronto, including one homicide.

It’s beyond disgraceful.

Welcome to October 2024. It may be the month of Halloween but these horrors are real.

The Greater Toronto Area has become hell on earth! Toronto and the GTA is so dangerous now that it’s hard to keep track of the carnage. There is just so much of it. It’s pathetic.

For resident’s, it’s terrifying.

So what has Toronto Mayor Olivia Chow posted about the three dead in three shootings – four homicide shootings in 24 hours as well as a fatal stabbing?

Nothing so far.

Her latest X post was from Truth and Reconciliation Day, where did a video and also commented “on this National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, the new Spirit Garden at Nathan Phillips Square is opening. It’s a space to honour residential school survivors and remember the children who didn’t make it home — a space to come together to learn, share, teach, and heal.”

There would need to be hundreds of monuments for the number of people slain in Toronto – most of which is the fault of the current leadership of herself, her predecessor John Tory, Premier Doug Ford and Prime Minister Justin Trudeau.

Mississauga Mayor Carolyn Parrish also has not yet commented on what happened in her city.

Her latest X post were also about the day to remember residential school survivors, a school winning a robotics prize and a story about gas guzzling lawnmower and that it is “time we switch to battery-powered equipment.”

Ford did a video on Truth and Reconciliation and for people to test their smoke alarms. Trudeau addressed first nation’s issues and had a video of him presenting a trophy for a golf tournament.

What are they all waiting for?

Why are they not more outraged? Why don’t they use their positions of power to say what is happening on our streets is intolerable and there will be no more acceptance of it?

Maybe it’s because they have all failed.

None of them tweeted about this night from hell that happened on their watches. They have their heads in the sand. They have blinders on. Ear plugs in. But everybody else can see it, hear it and reel from it.

Perhaps it’s better politicians don’t bother commenting since none of them have done anything meaningful to stop this madness.

One could argue they helped cause it.

One thing for sure is violent criminals are in charge here. Not them.

There must come a time when people can call out the insanity and take action to end the violence. In almost every case, the perpetrators of violent crime are already in the justice system or are on bail or parole lease. It’s not rocket science to see that if some of these people were held in custody, there would be people alive today.

So what are they going to do about it?

Check their social media to find out.
