The shortlist in the 2024 Belfast Telegraph Property Awards in partnership with Openreach is published today.
Ahead of the awards ceremony on October 25, over 100 property businesses, projects and individuals have made the grade across 18 categories in the industry’s most prestigious awards programme.
The winner of the non-entry category of Property Personality of the Year will be announced at the ceremony in Belfast’s Crowne Plaza Hotel.
And this year, a new category of Regeneration Project of the Year has been added.
Sharon McClements, chair of the judging panel, is a senior lecturer in the built environment at Ulster University and a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors (RICS).
She said: “The judges of the Belfast Telegraph Property Awards 2024 assessed and judged a wide range of property categories showcasing the talent, commitment, innovation and growth of the NI property sector.
“We had a record number of entries this year, including a strong number of entries in the new Regeneration Project of the Year category.
“This category demonstrated the importance of regeneration to local communities as well as the social, economic and environmental benefits.
“The shortlisted projects all highlight how significant challenges can be overcome through innovation and creativity and how we can maintain our buildings’ heritage for generations to come.
“There will be much to celebrate on the day.”
Garret Kavanagh, director of Openreach NI, said: “We are delighted to partner with the Belfast Telegraph Property Awards again this year.
“The property sector is a really important partner to Openreach, designing, building and selling the homes and properties of the future.
“As lifestyles change, remote working being only one example, the homes that people want to live in are changing and the demand for connected technologies is only ever going to increase.
“We understand that availability of high-speed broadband has a direct impact on house prices and saleability and we are working with the property industry to future proof our network. Congratulations to all those who have made the shortlist.”
Regeneration Project of the Year was open to a project of any size that sees the redevelopment, repurposing or retrofitting of an existing building that delivers social, economic and environmental change.
The ceremony will be hosted by comedian Neil Delamere.
