A man was rescued by the Coastguard and transferred to hospital after getting into difficulty at a Co Down beach.
The incident occurred at Skippingstone Beach in Bangor around 9.45am on Tuesday.
A spokesperson for the Maritime and Coastguard Agency said the man was recovered to shore by the Bangor Coastguard Rescue Team.
The RNLI’s inshore lifeboat from Bangor was also tasked to the incident.
The NI Ambulance Service (NIAS) was called to the scene at 10.05am.
“NIAS despatched one emergency ambulance crew to the incident,” said a spokesperson.
“Following initial assessment and treatment at the scene, one patient was taken by ambulance to Ulster Hospital.”
