Cole Palmer stole all the headlines at the weekend with a four-goal display, sealing this season’s highest points haul in a single Gameweek.
The Chelsea forward (£10.7m) scored all of his side’s goals in their 4-2 win against Brighton and reminded managers why FPL gave him a record £5.5m price hike at the start of this season.
Elsewhere, Manchester United’s season limps on after losing 3-0 to Tottenham at Old Trafford, with club captain Bruno Fernandes (£8.2m) receiving his marching orders for a poor challenge on James Maddison (£7.5m).
And in a 2024/25 FPL first, both Erling Haaland (£15.3m) and Bukayo Saka (£10.1m) failed to provide any attacking returns for their managers.
Cole ‘Cold’ Palmer
The England international’s 25-point Gameweek 6 haul is the highest single total so far this season.
Since September 2023, Palmer has scored 28 goals and provided 15 assists – the second highest goal involvements in the major European leagues.
He is only second to Bayern Munich and former FPL favourite Harry Kane, who has 38 goals and 11 assists in the same period.
Over 50,000 FPL managers have been rushing to get Palmer into their squads so far this week but with a price tag of £10.7m, it could prove tricky for others.
Chelsea welcome Nottingham Forest in Gameweek 7 but with Liverpool (A), Newcastle (H), Manchester United (A) and Arsenal (H) after that it could be an idea to hold off ripping up your squads to accommodate Palmer.
Has patience ran out on Eze?
Crystal Palace midfielder Eberechi Eze (£6.8m) has earned a frustrating 21 points so far this season.
With only one goal and zero assists in six games, plenty of FPL managers have decided to cut their losses.

His impressive 2023/24 FPL points total of 136 earned the England international a price tag of £7m this season but that has dropped by £0.2m.
Over 200,000 FPL managers have already transferred him out this Gameweek but who could replace him?
Palmer is high on the majority of FPL managers minds but don’t forget about Brentford’s Bryan Mbeumo (£7.4m).
The midfielder has scored five goals this season and two in the last two Gameweeks.
Brentford have a favourable run of fixtures over the next seven Gameweeks and Mbeumo could prove a decent addition.
What next for Manchester United assets?
With two wins in their first six Premier League games, the pressure is on Manchester United and manager Erik ten Hag.
Sunday’s 3-0 loss at home to Tottenham was a disaster and it wasn’t much better for FPL managers with United stars in their squad.
Fernandes will miss his club’s trip to Aston Villa after getting a red card for his challenge on Maddison. The midfielder ended up with -2 on total points.
Coupled with his suspension and poor form, almost 145,000 FPL managers have removed the Portugal international from their squads.
But is it time to throw in the towel on all of United assets?
Their game at Villa will be tough but the Red Devils face Brentford (H), West Ham (A), Chelsea (H), Leicester (H) and Ipswich (A) in the following five Gameweeks.
The Haaland and Saka streak is over
Manchester City striker Haaland and Arsenal winger Saka both failed to provide any attacking returns this season in Gameweek 6 – but don’t let that put you off.
Pep Guardiola’s Man City face Fulham (H), Wolves (A), Southampton (H), Bournemouth (A) and Brighton (A) in their next five Gameweeks so plenty of opportunities for Haaland to add to his 10 goals.

Meanwhile, Saka, who has one goal and five assists so far, could prove a valuable option as Arsenal face Southampton (H) and Bournemouth (A) in the next two Gameweeks.
But be wary, the Gunners take on Liverpool (H), Newcastle (A) and Chelsea (A) in the following Gameweeks.
