The Montreal Alouettes announced Tuesday they have extended the contract of American wide receiver Cole Spieker for two more seasons.
Spieker, 27, has 49 receptions for 710 yards and seven touchdowns in 15 games with the Alouettes this season. He caught three passes for 62 yards and a touchdown in the 2023 Grey Cup game, the biggest of which was a third-and-five gamble that set up the game-winning touchdown.
“Cole always shows up on the field when we call his name,” Alouettes general manager Danny Maciocia said in a team statement. ”He is able to play on the inside as a receiver as well as on the outside. His versatility adds a lot to our team. We know that when he touches the ball, it’s going to stay in his hands, and our quarterbacks have great confidence in him.”
