Randy and Kit Cassingham completely uprooted their life and sold their home in Colorado to live full time on a cruise ship.

The first of its kind, The Odyssey, operated by the company Villa Vie, is completely residential.

To own a cabin with a balcony, you’ll need to fork out over £220,000, alongside monthly fees. The couple plan to live on the ship indefinitely.

Along with 600 other passengers, they arrived in Belfast in May to embark on a three-year-long global trip.

However, disaster struck just before they were due to set sail, with mechanical faults forcing the passengers to stay ‘stranded’ in Belfast.

4 months and some glimmers of false hope later, the ship hopes to leave Belfast for the Caribbean this week – provided the faults are fixed.

Randy and Kit Cassingham join Olivia Peden.
