Phillip Schofield’s controversial TV return has made headlines this week, and the former This Morning star has now shared his staggering weight loss that came from the experience.
The 62-year-old will be appearing in Channel 5’s Cast Away next week after more than a year away from screens following his affair scandal admission.
Former long-term broadcaster Schofield confirmed he would be back on screens to address the controversy surrounding his fall from grace.
After a lengthy hiatus from the public eye, the 62-year-old will be appearing in Channel 5’s Cast Away, which will see him surviving alone on an island as he reflects on the last year.
Schofield admitted to having had an “unwise but not illegal” affair with a younger ITV colleague in May 2023, resulting in him leaving the channel and stepping away from the limelight.
In his most recent update, he took to social media days before the show is due to air to reveal he lost 13lbs in the 10 days he spent in Madagascar filming the show.

Taking to Instagram on Friday, he shared a clip of himself hitting the gym in a bid to regain the weight he had shed.
“Leg day. Putting back the 6kg I lost on the island with muscle… not carbs,” he penned.
The whopping weight loss happened in just 10 days while he was on the island to chronicle his thoughts surrounding the controversy that saw him leaving screens after decades as one of the faces of daytime television.
In a trailer for Cast Away, Schofield can be seen walking along a beach and getting tearful as he talks about the scandal.
The announcement came as he teased some big news on his Instagram account on Tuesday, and immediately speculation about a return to screens was rife.

Many of the former presenter’s ITV co-stars have commented on the news of his TV return, with Loose Women star Nadiya Sawalha, 59, refusing to hold back as she shared her criticisms on Thursday.
“[The trailer] was popping onto phones all over the place yesterday and everyone was aghast,” she complained.
“When I was first sent it, there was no message with it, so I thought it was a joke.”
Speaking on the Coffee Moaning podcast, she continued: “I just couldn’t believe it. It took me so long to get to grips with it. Then I re-watched it.
LATEST DEVELOPMENTS
“First of all, I cringed. If I’m honest, I absolutely cringed when I saw that video. I thought, ‘that is so embarrassing.’ That was my first feeling.”
As she reflected on the scandal that ended Schofield’s lengthy television career, she went on: “He lied to everybody at work. He left people to deal with his s**t, I feel, in my opinion.
“There are so many people he’s upset. There’s so much shame involved in this and before anybody dares say this is from a homophobic point of view – it is not, at all! I would be like this right across the board,” she added.
