GB News presenter Andrew Pierce recalled his experience of interviewing Dame Joan Collins at home, calling her opinions on ‘wokery’ fascinating.

The Hollywood legend expressed her concerns about the current state of comedy and political correctness in an exclusive interview with GB News.

Recalling the interview, Andrew said: “Well a first for GB News, Dame Joan Collins talking to me at home, very relaxed, talking about her extraordinary career on stage, on the big screen, on the small screen, about her experiences as an author.

“Fascinating on Wokery, how she thinks Wokery is out of control.

“Fascinating that she didn’t think we should have been locked down during the Covid crisis. Also very interesting on marriage.

“She knows quite a lot about marriage, of course, because she is on husband number five, Percy. But they’ve been married for over 20 years now.

“And of course, she’s doing a one-woman show at the Adelphi Theatre in London on October 22, called Behind the Shoulder Pads.

“She is compelling viewing because she’s got so much to say. She’s met with so many people. She’s worked with everybody from Frank Sinatra to Paul Newman to Elizabeth Taylor, and she doesn’t mind dropping a few names, I can tell you. So tune in.”

During their interview, Collins shared her views on the changing landscape of the entertainment industry commenting: “We’ve lost our British sense of humour.”

She said: “I grew up with my father going to – because he was an agent for variety halls – and so we would go and we would see outrageous comedians making jokes about their mother-in-law and fat people.

“You can’t say that now. You can’t say any of that stuff now.”

Collins also shared her experience meeting with former US president Donald Trump and several British Prime Ministers during the interview.
