People in Bristol and the wider region should be prepared for flooding as heavy rain thrashes the area. The Met Office has issued a yellow rain warning which is in place until 9am tomorrow (Friday, September 27).
Forecasters expect some areas to be hit by up to 60mm of rain in just four hours. There are also a number of flood warnings and alerts in place, with people urged to avoid low-lying land and roads.
The Environment Agency (EA) has advised people to make sure they are prepared. The agency has a “virtual flood warden” which gives advice on what to do before, during and after a flood.
The service can alert you when flooding is expected. It also offers advice on how to prepare before a flood, actions to take during a flood and how to recover from a flood.
The Met Office said there is a chance that driving conditions will become difficult due to spray and flooding during the course of the warning. Some properties may also lose power.
