Meghan Markle called senators to advocate for paid family leave while “feeding Princess Lili”, a former Archewell staffer has claimed.
Former Archwell COO Mandana Dayani has opened up about her fondest memories of working with the Duke and Duchess of Sussex.
She said: “Part of the profound injustice of having to speak publicly on this in light of these endless and damaging narratives is that so much of the kindness, mentorship, and support that Prince Harry and Meghan share with others happens quietly behind closed doors.”
Dayani served as the president of Archewell for 18 months in 2021 and 2022.
She continued to tell Us Weekly: “I’ll never forget sitting on the floor in their kitchen while Meghan was feeding Princess Lili and cold-calling a dozen senators — their reactions were unbelievable — to ask them to advocate for paid leave.”
Dayani’s defence comes after The Hollywood Reporter published a scathing report on Meghan.
The publication called the duchess a “dictator in high heels”, and added the claim came from someone “very high up” in the couple’s employ.
The allegations, including claims that “everyone’s terrified” of the duchess, came to light just over a week ago, and sparked uproar among royal commentators and fans.

GB News exclusively reported an absolute denial of the allegations, and confirmed with several current staffers that the “Duchess Difficult” moniker had “never” been used.
Dayani also told Us Weekly: “Some of my favourite memories were during our weekly meetings in their Montecito home, where Meghan always served the most incredible lunches, snacks and her latest beautiful concoction.”
She also recalled how the Sussexes put her at ease when she attended her first royal gala.
“I walked into their room [and found] Meghan finishing her own makeup and steaming her jumpsuit.

“We all toasted with a sip of champagne while Meghan danced to her favourite oldies playlist.”
Dayani also said she was “in awe” of Prince Harry’s humility.
“My dad’s mother [was] a Kurdish mother of seven from a small village who never learned to read, drive, or speak English, and his dad’s mother [was] the Queen of England — [I remember] realising that I never once felt unequal or less than.”
