FIRE THOSE TEACHERS
Up until now, the collective might have agreed that many a university student was subject to indoctrination of sorts in regard to the political landscape by subjective, learned professors and the institution they attended. But this? This exercise of taking young students to a protest that somehow morphed into an anti-Israel event is an unforgivable daylight theft of their innocence. A decision made by their teachers, not the parents. And ‘acting’ TDSB chair Neethan Shah’s promised a review of the board’s field trip policy. Well that makes it better. No review necessary since I am confident that attending anti any race or faith protests are not listed as suitable. Those educators should be fired, not allowed to stay in their posts formulating other ways to imbue the students with their ‘message.’

(This entire fiasco was completely avoidable. The teachers involved knew what was going to happen. They should be held accountable, but likely nothing will happen to them as their union will protect them)
TIME TO TAKE A STAND
How disgusting and arrogant of the TDSB, teachers and administrators to allow/take kids to a political rally and then stand by idly while the kids get sucked up into a hate-filled anti-Israeli rally. In my opinion, here is what’s happening and what needs to happen to reverse the disturbing path education is on in Ontario. School boards are full of energetic woke lefties who love the idea that they have the power to push their own ideology on the education system. Many in the teaching profession are of the same mind. Those teachers who are opposed are silent for fear of reprisal and cancellation. We sit at home lazily complaining and criticizing. I’m as guilty as you. I’m too old to make a difference but many of you aren’t. Get up off the couch and get elected to your local school board. That’s the current source of wacko policies. They have the numbers and the enthusiasm to pass policies that suit their warped vision of the world. They have teachers/administrators/parents eager and willing to go along. Dare I say it? It’s time for you to get involved and “drain the swamp.”

(This is yet another excellent example for school choice in Ontario. If the Ford government really wants to improve education, that should be one of the policies to explore)
