A power couple may have blossomed during an awards reception at this week’s UN General Assembly, which wrapped up Wednesday.
Elon Musk was at the Atlantic Council’s Global Citizen Awards dinner in New York on Monday, where he introduced Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
Meloni “is even more beautiful on the inside than she is on the outside,” Musk gushed about the right-wing politician, according to Politico.
The billionaire went on to call her “authentic, honest and thoughtful.”
The X owner added: “That can’t always be said about politicians,” which earned him a laugh from the crowd.
While presenting the award to Meloni, she and Musk shared a look and short embrace. She called him a “precious genius,” then launched into a 15-minute speech where she discussed “her vision of Western conservatism,” Politico reported.
Musk and Meloni’s first meeting was in June 2023 at her official residence in Rome, and the two have met several times over the last year.
The Tesla and SpaceX head also spoke at a political festival hosted by Meloni’s Brothers of Italy party last December.

Both Musk and Meloni appear to be single.
Musk has 12 children with three different women, and welcomed a baby in January with Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis — though Zilis previously claimed they have never been romantically involved.
Meloni publicly dumped the father of her daughter, Andrea Giambruno, last fall after he made lewd remarks on Italian TV, grabbing his genital area while propositioning a presenter about a “threesome or foursome.”
It was the 47-year-old who requested that Musk introduce her at the dinner, the political outlet reported.
Musk was seen nodding while Meloni spoke, and stood up to applaud her when she wrapped up.
The pair, who also happened to be seated together at the event, were spotted deep in conversation.
One video, shared on X by reporter Smriti Sharma, shows Musk leaning in close to her as she gestures enthusiastically.
Some members of the Atlantic Council were upset that Meloni received a Global Citizen Award, noting her past relationship with Russia and her party’s anti-immigrant, anti-LGBTQ rhetoric, Politico noted.
But the think tank credited her “strong support of the European Union and the trans-Atlantic alliance, and her 2024 chairmanship of the Group of Seven.”
The other recipients of the night were Ghanian President Nana Akufo-Addo, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis, and Miky Lee, vice chair of CJ Group.
