This was the scene after a suspected drink-driver crashed their car in Co Armagh.

The suspect made a 999 call to police to report the accident – then was arrested for failing to provide a breath sample.

The PSNI posted details of the incident on their Facebook page.

In the early hours of this morning the vehicle was involved in a collision within the vicinity of Church Street in Tandragee.

Police said they received an emergency call sent from the vehicle advising it had been involved in the collision.

Upon arrival, police located the driver who appeared to be under the influence of alcohol.

The driver was asked to provide a specimen of breath.

The PSNI said: “The driver then didn’t feel quite as enthusiastic about assisting police with their enquires and failed to provide a specimen of breath.

“The driver was subsequently arrested for failing to provide a preliminary specimen of breath and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.

“Once again, whilst at custody the driver then failed to provide an evidential specimen of breath, so was further arrested.

“We continue to conduct proactive patrols, spotting drink drivers on our roads and conducting vehicle checkpoints to assist in keeping our roads a safer place for everyone.”
