Cleaning stains from shoes and clothes can often feel like an uphill battle, especially when dealing with tricky materials such as suede.
However, there are methods to restore your garments to their former glory, and one technique involves a product you might already have in your bathroom cabinet – or can be bought for £2.
The tip was shared on Instagram by cleaning enthusiast Chantel Mila Ibbotson, who goes by the handle Mama_Mila_Au, and it involves using Micellar Water, a staple in many skincare routines.
In her video, she explained: “Remove stains on suede using micellar water, and it also removes make-up stains from clothes instantly.”
Her followers were quick to praise this advice, with some sharing their successful experiences, while others expressed their astonishment, reports the Express.
One follower commented: “The Micellar water on suede trick is THE best. Used it when someone stood on my brand new sambas.”
Another added: “Miceller water makeup wipes are fantastic at cleaning sneakers! I dropped a lipstick brush with red lipstick on brand new cream suede sambas and thought I’d trashed them, one quick wipe and they were like new.”
In the same video, Chantel offered additional cleaning hacks, including a method to wash your cushions that will leave your home smelling divine.
“Wash cushions and throws with eucalyptus oil to rid dust mites and make your home smell amazing”, she explained, while demonstrating how to add a few drops of the oil to the washing powder in the machine.
Her subsequent advice promises not only to leave your house smelling wonderful but also provides you with a DIY cleaning solution.
Chantel advised: “Boil two cups water, a quarter cup of white vinegar, and lemon to rid lingering cooking odours. And you can bottle this mix and use it as a kitchen spray.”
