GB News host Andrew Pierce has been left furious after Yvette Copper gave a key note address at the Labour conference this morning.

The Home Secretary criticised “far-right thuggery” as violence and unrest swarmed the streets of the UK last month.

At the conference Copper said: “Plenty of people have strong views on immigration, on crime, on the NHS and more but they don’t pick up bricks and throw them at the police.

“They don’t set fire to buildings with people inside. It was arson, it was racism, it was thuggery, it was crime.”

Reacting to her comments, Andrew Pierce fumed: “Good on rhetoric. Not much substance. Obviously she was going to get huge applause talking about violence against women.

“But I thought it was particularly interesting the way she ripped into the idea that any of the people involved in the disturbances after the terrible killings in Southport was all the far right.

“She repeated that again, completely ignoring the fact that many people were uneasy about the rapid effect of mass migration in this country and how it’s affected communities.

“I think, frankly, that’s insulting. It just shows Labour doubling down on it. They think they’re winning on it politically, I’m not sure they are.

“They don’t understand – mass immigration is becoming a major political issue – people are disturbed by the speed of it – if Labour don’t get a grip of it – they will have Reform breathing down their neck.

“I don’t think Labour think immigration is a problem – they like it and are going to encourage it.”

He added: “I still think it’s a scandal that they didn’t at least try to see if Rwanda would work.

“I think the fear for Labour was what if it did work when they called it such a gimmick.

“So I say it was very good on rhetoric, but lacking in substance and no real serious policy on how they’re going to bring immigration down, which is running far too high and no response to the small boats.”

Cooper’s speech also outlined several measures to tackle street crime and antisocial behaviour.

She announced plans to bring back visible policing to Britain’s streets, with Labour committing to increase neighbourhood policing by 13,000 officers and PCSOs.

The Home Secretary promised new powers for police to crack down on persistent antisocial behaviour offenders, including those riding dangerous off-road bikes.

Cooper revealed plans for Asbo-style Respect Orders and a new criminal offence of assaulting a shop worker to be introduced next year.

Additionally, she announced the creation of a Knife Enabled Robbery Taskforce in response to a 13 per cent increase in this type of crime over the past year.

These measures aim to “take back town centres from thugs and thieves,” according to Cooper.

GB News viewers and members were quick to react to Cooper’s speech.

Jenny wrote: “If she doesn’t realise that it was about immigration, she’s on another planet. Deluded.”

Linda White wrote: “I can’t listen to Yvette Cooper anymore.”

GB News member, Fredi Threlfall said: “Brick through TV moment. I’m off to put brandy in my tea to calm down. What a sanctimonious, patronising, awful woman.”

Christine James wrote: She’s more worried about the riots than those poor little girls being murdered.”
