A GAA club has been targeted in Dungiven.

The attack resulted in one of the dugouts at St Canice’s GAC being set on fire and damaged fencing in several parts of the grounds.

The club said the “deplorable act of vandalism” occurred at their Páirc na nÓg club on Monday night.

The club urged “members and the wider community to remain vigilant” and “stand against this type of anti-social behaviour.”

“Please report any suspicious activity at Páirc na nÓg to us, as only authorised events should be taking place on the premises.”

“These facilities are offered free of charge to local clubs and schools, and we have worked hard to improve them in recent years.”
