A bizarre video is circulating online of a fire at a store in the Eaton Centre late last week.

In the video posted Sept. 21 by 6ixBuzzTV, a small fire is seen on the floor of a Rogers store as a person moves about the shop.

Security guards and bystanders watch the person who appears to spray a substance on a counter and try to light it.

The guards enter the store with a fire extinguisher and use it on the counter as well as to put out the blaze, resulting in a plume of smoke. They then exit the shop as the person moves about with something lit on fire in a cup.

The guards re-enter the store and speak to the person before leaving again as the person, wearing a crop top and tight pants, walks near the storefront.

The video ends with Toronto Police officers speaking with the person, who at that point was seated cross-legged on a display counter.

In an email to the Toronto Sun, a police spokesperson said they “cannot confirm anything in relation to the video.”

The spokesperson said police were called to the Eaton Centre on Friday, Sept. 20 at about 6 p.m. “for violent behaviour in a store at the mall.”

“The person was arrested without incident by police and charged accordingly,” police said without elaborating.
