Marks and Spencer’s customers are praising the retailer for offering ‘bargain’ perfumes that boast a ‘designer’ fragrance. Known as Money Saving Official on Instagram, Laura White shared a video showcasing the store’s beauty section where she came across a selection of £10 scents.

Customers rave that these fragrances ‘smell like luxury’ but without the hefty price tag. The 100ml bottles form part of Marks and Spencer’s own brand collection, priced at £10 each.

Laura suggests these could be strong matches for the likes of Yves Saint Laurent, Paco Rabanne, and Chanel. Perfume swaps aren’t anything new., with the rising cost of living, many are ditching their designer sprays for cheaper alternatives that can be found on the high street for considerably less.

Laura showed a bottle of Marks and Spencer’s Midnight Blossom, available for £10 per 100ml. Infused with white flower, mandarin, and tuberose, it is said to smell similar to YSL’s Black Opium, which can fetch up to £125 for a 90ml bottle, reports the Mirror.

Impressed by its quality, one customer said: “Fabulous long lasting smell, beautiful and subtle to wear!” Another commented on their switch: “I used to use an expensive brand until about ten years ago, treated myself again recently and, oh, the disappointment. This Eau de Toilette was recommended as a ‘smell alike’ and really pleased with it.”

Fans of Paco Rabanne’s Lady Million, typically retailing for around £105 for 80ml, might consider M&S’s Warm Neroli as a cost-effective alternative. Described as an “elegant scent”, it merges “citrusy notes of neroli and bergamot with an earthy drydown of musk”.

One fan of the cheaper bottle said: “Lovely smell. Long lasting and better quality than many brands several times more expensive!”

The iconic Chanel Coco Mademoiselle perfume, which typically costs customers £145 for a 100ml bottle, has a high street alternative in Marks and Spencer’s Soft Iris. The spray is said to have a similar scent – mixing iris, jasmine and bergamot with orange blossom essence and finished with an aromatic base of vetiver, amber and patchouli – and also retails at just £10 for 100ml.

One satisfied customer left a five-star review, stating: “Reminds me of Coco Chanel! I am obsessed! Great for everyday wear.”

Laura also highlighted a significant saving with Marks and Spencer’s Warmth scent. A 100ml bottle costs £18 and is said to remind shoppers of the £234 Le Labo Santal 33 Eau de Parfum.

One viewer responded: “A very good EDP with good price. It’s long lasting to me, I can still smell it after 10 hrs on me.”

Another added: “I have grown to love this perfume over the past year so to find it in a larger bottle is great”.
