A second sexual assault allegation has been made against a York Region message therapist and police believe there may be more alleged victims as the accused worked in various locations across the GTA.

On Aug. 19, it’s alleged a client was sexually assaulted by their massage therapist at a clinic in the area of Yonge St. and Savage Rd. in Newmarket. “During the massage, the suspect touched the victim in a sexual manner,” police alleged.

York Regional Police released the name and image of the accused, Philip Lau, 54, of the Town of Georgina, in announcing earlier this month that he had been charged with sexual assault.

On Sept. 11, following news of the arrest being reported in the media, a second individual alleged to police that they had been sexually assaulted during visits to a clinic in Richmond Hill in August.

Lau now faces a total of two counts of sexual assault.

Investigators note that a “sexual assault includes any non-consensual contact of a sexual nature” and that there is no statute of limitations for sexual offences.
