Nigel Farage has hit back at campaign group Led By Donkeys after they unveiled a stunt in Clacton seeking to raise awareness about his earnings from second jobs.

The group often carries out campaigns and stunts skewering politicians and Nigel is one of their more frequent targets.

But speaking to Steve Edginton on GB News in an interview you can watch in full above, the Clacton MP insisted it’s water off a duck’s back and he “couldn’t care less” about the criticism he is subject to.

“I wonder whether they will put a billboard up saying I am taking zero personal expenses as an MP”, he questioned.

“I won’t be taking any housing grants, I won’t have my energy bills paid as everybody else does.

“I wonder whether they will put a billboard up saying that.

“As far as I know, we are supposed to work a 40-hour week, although I think Labour wants to have Fridays off now.

“The fact I work 100 hours and I’m a bit of a workaholic… This whole system of financial declarations doesn’t suit someone running a company, I do a variety of things, I have a number of staff working for me.

“That particular month was a big one because I had three months worth of income coming into it.

“I will be criticised for whatever I do. I will be criticised for earning money. If I am in the House of Commons, I should be in Clacton. If I am in Clacton, I should be in the House of Commons.

“And you know what? I ignore the whole bloomin’ lot. I couldn’t care less.”

The billboard in question detailed how much money Nigel made during his first month in office from his other sources of income.

He was shown to be the highest earning MP after submitting his register of interests.

The billboard from Led By Donkeys says that he made £132,713 from 4 July to August 4.

Sharing a post of the billboard on X, Led by Donkeys wrote: “New billboard in Clacton. We’ve booked this one for six months and will update it every time the new Register of Members’ Interests is published.”
