Premier League legend Alan Shearer has told Tottenham boss Ange Postecoglou what his biggest problem is at the club.

The Australian has had a tough start to the season and there have even been question marks over his future.

Spurs have won just once out of four Premier League matches, a 4-0 victory over Everton.

Since then, there have been defeats to Arsenal and Newcastle and fans are not happy.

But Shearer has insisted Tottenham must stick with Postecoglou because they knew what they were signing up for when they hired the attack-minded coach.

Speaking to BetFair, the Newcastle legend said: “They brought him in because of his style of play and because of his beliefs.

“It would be crazy for Spurs or Postecoglou to change that and he’s not going to.

“He plays with a high line, with his full-backs going into midfield and at times the opposition will catch him out.

“Certainly from set-pieces, teams see a weakness. Whether that’s the goalkeeper or the Tottenham set-up but he’s not changing.

“It worked for them in a lot of games last season and it was exciting football but it is, at times, high risk.

“Sometimes fans have to be patient because it’ll work one week and maybe not so much the other.

“Spurs have to stick with Postecoglou, there’s no doubt about it but you know as a manager and as players that you have to deliver on the pitch.

“If you don’t, you’ll get criticised and at the minute Tottenham haven’t had a good start to the season.”

Postecoglou was hired by Tottenham last summer after a difficult stint under Antonio Conte, who fans believed was too defensive.

And the ex-Celtic coach hit it off immediately with the supporters and in his first 10 games in charge, Spurs scored 22 goals and conceded just seven.
