In August 2023, Lucy Letby was convicted of murdering seven babies and attempting to kill six others in the Chester Hospital where she worked.

The former neonatal nurse became the fourth woman in the UK to be sentenced to life behind bars.

In July 2024, a retrial found Letby guilty of a seventh attempted murder.

Despite this, there are now growing calls, including one from former Conservative Brexit minister David Davis, for her case to be re-examined.

It has also been revealed that Letby’s so-called ‘confessions’ were actually made under advice from counsellors to write down her feelings, raising questions over their validity.
