Three young boys have been arrested in Londonderry on suspicion of rioting and other offences.

It follows disorder on Nailors Row in the city on August 10 which saw police officers injured.

Petrol bombs, fireworks and stones were thrown over several hours and a large number of young people were involved.

The violence followed a major PSNI operation surrounding the annual Apprentice Boys’ Relief of Derry parade, which passed off without incident.

The boys – one of whom is 10-years-old, and the two others aged 13 – have been released on bail

Police carried out searches on Thursday as part of an investigation into the disorder. Four searches were conducted at addresses in the city-side of Derry and a number of items were seized.

It is being led by detectives from North West Criminal Investigation Division.

The investigation continues.
