Ask any Buffalo Bills fan how they feel about Josh Allen and the responses likely will fall between ‘best in the game’ and ‘franchise icon.’

It turns out that Allen’s colleagues in the NFL don’t necessarily feel the same.

According to a poll of 103 players conducted by ESPN, Allen was named the Most Overrated QB in the league.

Over his first six years in the league, Allen has established himself as one of the game’s elite signal-callers and has led the Bills to four straight AFC East division titles and five straight playoff appearances. He was the NFL MVP runner-up in 2020 while also receiving votes in 2022 and 2023.

However, Allen has not been able to lead the Bills to a Super Bowl appearance and has made only one AFC championship game.

That likely was one of the reasons why Allen received the most ‘overrated’ votes in poll, while one NFC West player also said Allen commits “too many turnovers.”

Allen had 11 votes in the poll, giving him the overrated title ahead of Miami Dolphins’ Tua Tagovailoa and Philadelphia Eagles’ Jalen Hurts, who had 10 votes each.

The Bills star, who has been dating Hollywood starlet Hailee Steinfeld, didn’t seem to be hurt by the “overrated” assessment, choosing to focus on a different category in which he came out on top: Trash-talking.

“So you’re telling me, I was voted as the #1…best trash talker??? Let’s goooooo!!!” Allen posted on X.

In the best trash-talking QB category, Allen was the runaway winner with 26 votes compared to 17 for second-place finisher Baker Mayfield of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

“He’s going to run you over and talk trash after he runs you over,” one NFC East player told ESPN.

So far in his career, Allen has completed 63.2% of his passes for 22,703 yards with 167 touchdowns and 78 interceptions. He also has rushed for 3,611 yards and 53 touchdowns.

He’ll look to add to those numbers on Sept. 8, when the Bills open their season against the Arizona Cardinals.
