Cristiano Ronaldo has broken another record on YouTube after surpassing a huge total of subscribers, trouncing Lionel Messi in the process.

The iconic footballer started his own YouTube channel this week to amazing success, breaking a world record after a rapid rise.

And now Ronado has breezed past Mr Beast for the most subscribers in 24 hours, reaching 20 million subscribers to beat the American social media star.

Mr Beast has the most subscribers on the planet with over 311 million – but Ronaldo has his sights set on that total and already has 34.2 million.

While the Al-Nassr star might have a long way to go, if his Instagram is anything to go by, he will smash that number in no time at all.

The 39-year-old has the most Instagram followers in the world, boasting a total of over 636 million.

And it is the latest strike Ronaldo can clock up against his long-term rival Messi, whose own YouTube page has just 2.7 million subscribers.

Ronaldo managed to beat that number within hours of launching his YouTube channel, which already has plenty of content on it for desperate fans.
