Chelsea look set to axe eight players before the end of the transfer window and recoup around £200million in the process.

Conor Gallagher joined Atletico Madrid on Wednesday with Joao Felix coming the other way but there is plenty of transfer activity expected before deadline day.

But the Blues academy graduate is not the only big name looking at the exit door with the Mirror reporting that Raheem Sterling, Ben Chilwell and Romelu Lukaku are all potentially on their way out.

Sterling and Chilwell have been exiled from first-team training at Chelsea, with the former releasing a statement minutes before it was announced he was not part of the squad for the club’s Premier League opener against Manchester City on Sunday.

Blues boss Enzo Maresca revealed how neither were part of his plans going forward, leaving them out in the cold.

After his treatment of the English duo was branded ‘brutal’, Maresca defended his actions and said: “Brutal? I don’t think so.

“I try to be honest. I can repeat again if it’s not clear: I spoke with Raheem before the City game.

“I said he is going to struggle to get minutes with us and this is the reason why he is out of the squad.

“With Chilly, I said he is a lovely guy, but he is going to struggle because of his position.

“He is going to struggle. If you define this as brutal, it’s up to you to decide. For me, it’s not brutal, it’s just honest.”

Sterling and Chilwell are not the only two set to leave, with both set to land around £55m in fees between them.

Napoli and Chelsea are locked in talks over Lukaku, who could join for £40m if a deal is also struck for Victor Osimhen to go the other way.

Joining the trio out the exit door include Kepa Arrizabalaga, who could make £15m with Saudi clubs interested in the past.

Fellow goalkeeper Dorde Petrovic impressed last season and may be sold for £20m, as well as Trevoh Chalobah, who GB News understands could be utilised in a swap deal with Liverpool.

Armando Broja is in the process of joining Ipswich Town on loan, which will include a mandatory buy option worth £30m if the Tractor Boys stay in the Premier League this season.

And Carney Chukwuemeka could be allowed to leave for £20m with several players ahead of him in the pecking order in his preferred attacking midfield position.

In total, if all fees are made, it would make Chelsea a cool £200m and also reduce their bloated squad to 25.

Add in the fees already made from Gallagher, Ian Maatsen, Omari Hutchinson, Diego Moreira and Lewis Hall and the total received would amount to £323.5m.
