OFF THE SOCIAL SCHEDULE

Re “Where’s Waldo?” (Brian Lilley, Aug. 17): The explanation for the missing and late itinerary items may be as simple as Justin Trudeau is so unpopular that he is receiving very few invites to public events, to meet with concerned citizen groups, or attend openings, etc. Photo ops this summer are definitely way down from last summer.

Vivienne Edwards                                                                                                                            Peterborough

(It would seem nobody wants him around)

HORROR OF A GOVERNMENT

The CNE is the perfect place for Trudeau to witness first hand all the carnage he has done to our country. From people waiting in line for inflated food, scary rides, games of chance with little chance of success, and in the backdrop of Canada’s largest city suffering from congested traffic, exorbitant taxes and record crime. Too bad there is no haunted house at the Ex — Trudeau would have experienced the horrors he has put Canadians through the last nine years of his reign of terror!

(Let’s hope that ends after next election)

RED TRIANGLE

Re “Critics call for red triangle to be banned as hate symbol” (Bryan Passifiume, Aug. 14): Canadian Tire, the arguably most iconic Canadian company, has now been put in the sights of cancel culture due to its inverted red triangle as a symbol. I would hope the loony left does not go down that road. Of all their nonsense, this truly would be a step too far.

Edd Sloggett                                                                                                                                                    St. Catharines

(The extreme left ruin everything)

IT’S ON US

Re “Liberal gov’t refuses to say if it OK’d bonus for CBC CEO” (The Canadian Press, Aug. 15): Hmm. I see. So we don’t know one way or the other, yet only one answer would be truly damaging. Like, ‘I would rather not say whether or not I stole that money from our workplace. Who wants to go for coffee? My treat!’ OK! Got it.

Monique Simandl                                                                                                                                     Etobicoke

(The Trudeau Liberals take no responsibility for anything, and Canadians will have an opportunity to hold them accountable at the ballot box)
