A house fire in southern Etobicoke has claimed the life of someone inside the dwelling, according to police.

The fire happened on Saturday at 6:41 p.m. in the area of Lake Shore Blvd. and Miles Rd., said Toronto Police.

Emergency personnel had to contend with large flames and exploding windows. One person was pronounced dead after being located inside the home with no vital signs, said police.

Man rushed to hospital after stabbing

A man is expected survive, after suffering stab wounds Saturday night in Rexdale.

Toronto Police reported that officers were called at 9:05 p.m. to the area of Mount Olive Dr. and Silverstone Dr. for a stabbing.

A man was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

There is no suspect information.

Youth injured in crash

York Regional Police are looking for witnesses after a serious crash injured seven young people in Richmond Hill.
Officers were called to a motor vehicle collision in the area of Bayview Ave. and Bethesda Sideroad where they found a vehicle in a ditch with seven youths inside.
Multiple injuries were reported and two of the youths were taken to a hospital in a life-threatening condition.
Three occupants of the vehicle also suffered serious injuries, while the other two had minor injuries.
The investigation is ongoing.
